Leroy Jones Jr. aka "Peanut" was born December 21, 1970, in New Rochelle, New York to the late Leroy Jones Sr. and present Sara E. Jones. He transitioned this life to his eternal home on Wednesday, September 27, 2023.

​​Leroy grew up in Mount Vernon, New York. He accepted Christ at a young age where he was a member of New Jerusalem Church of Christ under the leadership of Bishop Whittaker Wright. After graduating from Mount Vernon High School, he went on to serve in the United States Army from 1988-1992.

​​After serving, he worked along with his father at Magnetic Analysis, in Mount Vernon, New York for many years. He later moved from New York to his father's hometown in Arkansas. He gained employment at the V.A. Hospital and remained there for nineteen years until his retirement. This is where he caught the eye and married his wife Audra North-Jones. Peanuts love for his wife, family and friends was unmeasurable. He loved having family gatherings and helped anyone in need.

Leroy is preceded in death by his father Leroy Jones Sr. and brother Christopher Jones. He leaves to cherish his love, wife Audra North-Jones his "Smookum." His mother Sara E. Jones, sisters Felecia Alford, Tiffany Jones and Talon Hairston, children Vanessa Castleman and Christopher Canady, God-children Armani Alford & Aniyah Simpson, his dog Ace Leroy Jones and a host of in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
