Maryam Anika Ballard was born on February 9, 1976, to the late Henry Ballard and Robyn Leary Abdullah in His infinite wisdom. Maryam loved to read and was quite proficient with internet technology, delighting in teaching techniques to her son Tosh at the young age of three. In the words of her daughter, Naomi: "My mom had a great sense of humor that I adored about her." Her love for 90's fashion and music influenced my personal outlook of good music and style over the years.
We would have paid any ransom to have my mom back however, everything that happens is for a reason. A message to anyone struggling from addiction of any sort: Please know that every breath is a fresh start... it is never too late. Her daughter Mia loved her mom's cooking, especially the eggplant parmesan dish. She also looked forward to the frequent shopping trips and, at one time, considered her mom to be her best friend.
Allah chose to take our beloved into His Glory on the morning of Saturday, November 4, 2023, and her soul rests in Allah alone. Maryam leaves to mourn her passing: Robyn Leary Abdullah, mother; Mia Anika Edwards of Dallas, Texas, daughter, Naomi (Immanuel) Israel, daughter, and Tosh Matthew Ballard, son, both of North Little Rock, Arkansas; Zion Israel, grandson, and Zayna Israel, granddaughter, both of North Little Rock, Arkansas, aunts, an uncle, many cousins, and friends.
