Rena C. (Bryant) Duncan

Rena C. Duncan was born to Lettie and Herbert Bryant, Sr. on December 12, 1953, in Richwood, Arkansas.   She married Artis C. Duncan, Sr. shortly after graduating from Lonoke High School.  She was a loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother.  Rena developed a passion for styling hair.  This led to her graduating from New Tyler Barber College and later becoming the owner of Duncan’s Barber and Styles beauty salon.  She worked as a stylist for numerous years until becoming a homemaker while her husband worked as an ironworker across the states and internationally.  She had the opportunity to visit various countries such as New Zealand and Russia while visiting him abroad.  She had a friendly disposition and never considered anyone as a stranger.  She had a way of lifting your spirits whether it was with a good laugh or positive words of wisdom.  Rena enjoyed crafts and planting lots of colorful flowers in the yard. She loved adding a decorative flare to anything she felt needed an additional touch of pizzazz. She adored her children and grandchildren.

Rena was preceded in death by her parents, Lettie and Herbert Bryant, Sr,; Husband, Artis C. Duncan, Sr. of Sherwood, AR; stepmother, Aliese Bryant of Pine Bluff, AR; brothers, Earnest Bryant of Little Rock, AR, Eddie Bryant of Lonoke, AR; sisters, Pearlie Mae Harris of Carson, CA, Mary Whitehead of Jacksonville, AR.

Rena leaves many to cherish her memory including: Son, Artis Duncan, Jr.(Gemma) Pflugerville, TX, daughter, Cassandra Thomas (Michael) of Pflugerville, TX,  son Billy Duncan, Jacksonville, AR. 8 Grandchildren: D’andre Barnes, Adrian Duncan, Aisha Joy Duncan, Alesha Duncan, Artis ‘Tre’ Duncan III, Mike Thomas (Arianna), Darius Thomas, Donovan Thomas and 1 great-granddaughter, Amara Thomas.  Surviving brothers and sisters, Dock Donaly of Dixmoor, Illinois, Thoriace Bryant (Barbara) of Belen, New Mexico, Herbert Bryant Jr. (Lawanda) of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Henry Bryant (Flora) of Compton, CA, Shirley Taylor (Johnny) of Perris, CA, L.B. Bryant (Mary) of England, AR, Jewel Bennett of Jacksonville, AR, James Bryant (Irenna) of Lonoke, AR, Dollie Edmondson of North Little Rock, AR, Wilma Woods (Tommy) of North Little Rock, AR, Raymond Bryant (Carolyn) of Lonoke, AR, and Robert Bryant (Loria) of England, AR.  She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family to mourn her loss.
