Ricky Lavern McKinney

Ricky Lavern McKinney was born April 17, 1952, to the late Van and Leoma McKinney. Ricky departed this life on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Peggy McElwee and Delilah Johnson. Ricky dedicated his life to Christ at an early age at St. Matthew Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. George White where he remained a faithful member.

Brother Ricky McKinney had a cheerful spirit. He brought much joy to the Kerr Community. Ricky enjoyed bonding with family, riding his bike, playing the guitar, the harmonica and playing basketball. Anyone who ever played the game with him knew to watch out for that left hook.

He leaves to cherish his memories one sister: Ruby Jean Newsome, brothers, Kenneth McKinney and Wallace Wayne Mckinney, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
