Artie Jerome Morris was born April 7, 1961, to the late Sam & Mary Bell McPhearson Morris in Lonoke, Arkansas. Artie accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Church of Christ in Lonoke.
He graduated from Lonoke High School with the class of 1979. After graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps where he spent four years of duty and later became a SFC in the US Army. After serving his country for a short period in the Army, he received an Honorable Discharge. Service is something Artie devoted his life to; in the year 2000, he became a Sergeant at the Department of Correction, Tucker Unit, 2016 he retired.
Artie was preceded in death by his father and mother; three brothers, Charles Gilliam, Sr., Hubert Holden and Jeffrey McPhearson and one sister Brenda Coleman.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted wife, Elissa Fitzgerald Morris, Lonoke, Arkansas; two sons, Artie Jr., Russellville, Arkansas, Anthony, Plano, Texas; three daughters, Artice Morris Hart, Alissa and Jasmine, all of Lonoke; a grandson, Patrick Hart, Lonoke; one sister, Katie Jones, a host of aunts, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
