Barbara Ann (Jones) Gaines

Barbara Ann "Lady J" Jones (Gaines), was born September 23, 1958, to the late Fred Jones and Lena Mae Cole (Carr) of Lonoke, Arkansas. Barbara accepted Christ at an early age at St. John Baptist Church of Lonoke, Arkansas under the leadership of Pastor Preston Benson Sr. She was baptized in Bearskin Lake with her brothers and sisters.

She was united in holy matrimony to Reginald Lee Gaines Sr., on February 25, 1984. To this union three children were born. Barbara's first birth was a set of twins with John Cain of Pine Bluff. Her big heart and caring ways were experienced by her family and anyone she came across. She was very charitable and believed in being of service to others.

Barbara lived a full life. She enjoyed traveling, playing bingo and helping with her grandchildren. One of the things that gave her great joy was being around family, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and playing pool. Being a champion at the sport, Barbara played pool for many years with different teams. Her latest team were the Untouchables.

Barbara transitioned from this life on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at UAMS. She spent her last moments with her children and sister. She was preceded in death by her parents: Fred Jones and Lena Mae Cole (Carr), three brothers, Lewis Arthur Jones, Wayne Earl Jones and Kenneth Plummer.

Barbara leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Sedrick Cain, Derrick Cain and Reggie Gaines all of Lonoke, Arkansas, two daughters Cessari Gaines and Dessari Gaines of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, three brothers, William Jones, Freddie Jones and Stanley Jones of Lonoke, Arkansas, one sister Patricia Jones-Brasfield of Lonoke, Arkansas, a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
