Belinda Kay (Morris) Jones

Belinda Kay Morris-Jones was born in Lonoke County, Arkansas, on August 3, 1962, to the late Mary Bell and Sam Morris. She was a graduate of Lonoke High School and graduated with honors. She continued her education at Southern College in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Belinda worked for the Arkansas State Health Department for twenty-five years until her health declined. She was affectionately known to many as Coach Katie, who had a heart of gold for the youth in her community. Like her mother, she will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, outspokenness, leadership, and being the life of the party.

On August 4, 2007, Belinda united in holy matrimony to Walter Jones "Ray" and that was the happiest day of her life. During her illness, Ray was right by her side daily, making sure she was well cared for even throughout the night.

Belinda was a member of Brown Street Church of Christ and a loving wife, sister, auntie, cousin, and friend. She is preceded in death by both parents, son Eddrick Leshun Morris, sister Brenda Coleman, and four brothers: Charles Gilliam Sr., Jeffrey McPherson, Hubert Holden, and Artie Morris.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband of sixteen years, Walter "Ray" Jones of Lonoke, Arkansas; three sons, Jack D. Coleman Jr., of Dallas, Texas, and Sammy (Chemeka) Coleman of Pueblo, Colorado, Danwand Jones of Texas and two grandchildren, Alexis and Mecos Jones-host of nieces, nephews, cousins and very dear friends.
