Benny Jones was born August 21, 1949 to the late Joseph Sr. & Susie Jones. Benny united with Zion Chapel Baptist Church, Scott, Arkansas under the leadership of Rev. Isaac Glover.
He graduated from Carver High School in Lonoke, Arkansas. After high school Benny enrolled in Baptist College. He decided to go to work for Baptist Medical Center and rendered two years of work service there. Benny worked for Remington Arms for over thirty years. Due to health problems he had to retire.
Benny was a kind hearted, humble, generous and caring person. He never complained about anything. Benny was a very good role model to everyone who knew him. He helped raise his youngest siblings and also took care of his mom and dad.
Benny loved to watch tennis, basketball & football. During his younger days he played basketball for Remington Arms. He loved his nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. His passion for outside work included cutting grass, weed eating, planting trees and bushes. Benny was an animal lover, dogs, cats and goldfish were among the things he cared for. Everyone knew Benny loved life, people and was willing to help anyone. Benny's story could go on and on regarding his kindness. He was a very private person (one of a kind). Benny will be missed dearly.
Benny loved and cared so much for his special friends just to name a few, Ricky Watson, Tom Hutchison, Jasper Dixon, Charles Harris Jr., Denota Brown, Dora Bolden and his special sister-in-law Sara Jones. There are so many more.
We were blessed and grateful for the time God allowed us with him and the legacy he leaves behind. On March 29, 2021 Benny was called home to be with his eternal father. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, son Nicholas (Nick ) Jones, five brothers, Joseph Jones Jr., Leroy Jones Sr., Robert Jones Sr., Raybon Jones and Darnell Jones Sr., two sisters, Velma Lee Johnson and Viola Baugh.
Benny leaves to cherish his memories one grandson, Spencer Jones, Houston, Texas; three sisters, Bernice Holmes (his twin), North Little Rock, Arkansas; Bertha (Samuel) Dishman, Little Rock, Arkansas; and Josephine Johnson, Jacksonville, Arkansas; four brothers, Carl Jones, Aaron Jones, Scott, Arkansas; Roy Lee Jones, Jacksonville, Arkansas and Jerome (Jolanda) Jones, Little Rock, Arkansas, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
