Benny Ray Wright was born in Kerr, Arkansas on May 12, 1951, to the late Carlton (Mr. Buck) and Plythie Wright. He professed Christ as his Savior at an early age at St. Matthew Baptist Church in Kerr, Arkansas. Later in life when he moved to Jacksonville, Arkansas he joined Mount Pisgah Baptist Church where he remained a member until he passed.
Benny was a graduate of Carver High School in Lonoke, Arkansas and loved to play basketball as a hobby and watching Westerns on television was one of his favorite past times.
In June of 1974 he married Vennie Wright, who has preceded him in death. From that union they had one daughter, Denise Tamil Wright. He was employed at (ABF) Arkansas Best Freight as a Diesel Mechanic, retiring after twenty-six years.
Benny lived in Jacksonville for over forty years and was a faithful member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church and served as a Senior Usher. He had a smiling face, loving personality, and loved to laugh.
Benny departed this life February 24, 2023, only four days in Arkansas Hospice at St. Vincent Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Jane Ellen Wright Farmer.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved daughter, Denise, of Jacksonville, AR, his brother, Leon Wright (Patricia) of North Little Rock, AR , one aunt, Corrine Wright of Minneapolis, Minnesota, his brothers-in-love, Curtis Farmer and Joseph Taylor (Dorothy) of Jacksonville, AR, sisters-in-love, Jewel Taylor of Pomona, California, Antinette Taylor of Jacksonville, AR and Alma Gipson of Sherwood, AR, a host of nieces, nephews, and friends, with four special friends, Alvin (Duke) Waller, of Scott, AR, Jackie Polk, Charles Cole, and Darryl Landers, all of Jacksonville, Arkansas.
