Derrick Deangelo ("Spoony") Starks

Derrick Deangelo Starks "Spoony", 28, was born on May 17, 1993, to Melba Baker and the late Andre Starks Sr. Spoony was raised in North Little Rock, Arkansas where he graduated from North Little Rock High School. Through Silver City Church Ministries, under the direction of Pastor Greg Sublett, he found Christ at a young age. He was an active member of the NLR Marching Band and also a member of the Swim Team. Spoony had a passion for art, drama, and working with children. After high school, he attended Westminster College, where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. He Also attended Memphis School of Arts. Spoony enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as well as making people laugh.

Spoony transitioned into glory on April 12, 2022.

He is preceded in death by his father Andre Starks Sr., his sister Ka'Shara Baker, his nephew Marcus Holmes Jr., and grandfather Calvin Robinson Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memory; mother Melba Baker, aunt/mom Karen Baker; maternal grandmother Gloria Baker, paternal grandmother Maryland Starks; sisters Jasmine, Keonna, Kendra Baker and Coniquedre Starks; brothers Shelton Baker, Andre Starks Jr., DeShaun and Deuntay Bennett; nieces Zoeys Holmes, Zenobia, Kamaya and Kennedi Baker; nephews Major and Max Holmes; honorary brothers/best friends Jarrod Thomas, John "Joeey" Jarrett, Kenderick Scorza and Dylan Hixson; extended family members Dave and Dionne Green, Terre "Grams" Folger; a host of uncles, aunts, family and friends.
