Devoris Lockhart, age 42, of Columbus, Georgia, transitioned from this life and entered eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Born with a gentle spirit and a strong heart, Devoris touched every life he encountered with kindness, humility, and his signature sense of humor.
Devoris was a devoted father to his three children- Courtney Lockhart, Demarcus Vincent, and Antonio Lockhart- who were the pride and joy of his life. His love for them was deep, unwavering, and evident in the way he spoke about them, encouraged them, and showed up for them.
A natural athlete and true competitor, Devoris enjoyed basketball and football, spending countless hours playing, watching, and passionately debating his favorite teams. Sports brought him joy, but it was the time spent with family and friends that truly lit up his world.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving siblings:
Qunnderrie Snelling, Bobby Snelling, Latoya Lockhart, Shante Lockhart, Martel Williams, Curtis Thomas, Raheem Lockhart, and Elisha Lockhart.
To his family, Devoris was more than a brother-he was a protector, a friend, a listener, and a steady presence in their lives.
Devoris also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts. His departure leaves a space that can never be filled, but his spirit lives on through his children, his family, and every life he touched.
"To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord"
May his soul rest in everlasting peace.
