Eddie Wayne Bryant

February 16, 1957 ~ July 20, 2023 (age 66) 66 Years Old

Obituary

Pastor Eddie Wayne Bryant was born February 16, 1957 at UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas.  He was the 16th of 17 children born to Lettie and Herbert Bryant Sr, and was affectionately nicknamed “Bear” as a child.  He was a proud member of the Lonoke High School graduating class of 1975.

Eddie was born and raised in a rural area known as Richwood, Arkansas.  It may not be on the map, but it was in his heart.  His upbringing with a large family, on an equally large farm, taught him to love and care for the land.  This love of the land led to his becoming a farmer for most of his life.  He was such a fine and competent farmer that the U.S. Government selected and sent him to Ghana, Africa, so he could teach African farmers best farming practices.

In addition to being a great farmer, Eddie had a top-notch sense of humor.  Upon his return from Africa, he boldly smiled as he told us, “Now ya’ know they called me “King Bryant” over there, so y’all needs to start calling me “King” and treating me better over here.”

Eddie held a strong faith and was blessed to be appointed as the Pastor of Allport Community Fellowship in March of 2021.  He adored his congregation and worked tirelessly as their leader while also maintaining his lawn care business, “E & E Lawn Care.”

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Lettie and Herbert Bryant, Sr, his brother Earnest Bryant of Little Rock, AR, stepmother, Aliese Bryant of Pine Bluff, AR, and sisters Pearlie Mae Harris of Carson, CA, and Mary Whitehead of Jacksonville, AR.

Eddie leaves many to cherish his memory including:  wife of 34 years, Maria Bryant of Lonoke, AR, daughter, Edna Ruth Bryant of Little Rock, AR.  Surviving brothers and sisters, Dock Donaly of Dixmoor, Illinois, Thoriace Bryant (Barbara) of Belen, New Mexico, Herbert Bryant Jr. (Lawanda) of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Henry Bryant (Flora) of Compton, CA, Shirley Taylor (Johnny) of Perris, CA, L.B. Bryant (Mary) of England, AR, Jewel Bennett of Jacksonville, AR, James Bryant (Irenna) of Lonoke, AR, Dollie Edmondson of North Little Rock, AR, Wilma Woods (Tommy) of North Little Rock, AR, Rena Duncan of Jacksonville, AR, Raymond Bryant (Carolyn) of Lonoke, AR, and Robert Bryant (Loria) of England, AR, sister-in-law, Linda Cade (Michael & family) of Indianapolis, Indiana.  He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends to mourn his loss.

Eddie entered the gates of Heaven grinning on Thursday, July 20, 2023.  He will be greatly missed, and his memory will long live with all of those that he encountered during his 66 years.
