Emma Faye McGee was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on June 20, 1936, to the late Reverend Cornelius Holmes and Anna Lee Shelton Holmes. Emma accepted Christ at an early age with the love and leadership of her father. She received her early education in Arkansas. In 1954, Emma was united in holy matrimony with Joe Willie McGee who preceded her in death. To this union, seven children were born: Joe Nathan, Pamela, Gregory, Gerald, Trudy, Venzor Ray, and Eric.
Emma leaves behind her sole surviving sister, Arlene Woods, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, her children and their beloved families, some of whom are no longer with us.
