Eugene (Country June) Slater, Jr. was born on October 12, 1967 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Eugene Slater, Sr. and the late Lucy Parker-Slater. He united with the Church of Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith under the leadership of Bishop John Jeffery. Eugene attended Old Main High School in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
Country June as he was affectionately called because he was loud, funny, playful and he loved to eat. June always had a good heart. As a child, his mom would buy him Christmas toys. He would trade his new toys with his friends for something old and ragged. Mom would get so mad at him. But that was Country June. June was well loved by his family and friends and spoiled rotten by his four sisters Ann, Joyce, Faye and Renea. HE WILL BE MISSED BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN.
June departed this earthly life on October 6, 2020. He is preceded in death by his mother Lucy Parker-Slater, stepmother, Ann Slater, his brother Terry Slater, maternal grandparents, Frank and Corine Parker, Sr., paternal grandparents, Willie and Leola Slater.
