Mrs. Hazel Lorene Boyd Smith, was born November 16, 1931 to the late William "Buddy" Boyd and Hattie Mae Boyd in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was a long-time and faithful member of Bethel A.M.E. Church where she served on the following committees: President of The G. Waymon Blakely Choir, Treasurer of The Maggie T. Ashford Unit of the H.E. Carolina Society (WMS), Member of the MK Blakely Sunday School, Member of the Lay Organization, Member of Commission on Missions and Welfare, Steward, Class Leader, and Pastor's Aide Committee.
Mrs. Smith received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Philander Smith College on August 9, 1963. Thereafter she went on to teach in the North Little Rock School District for over thirty years. She was a dedicated member of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa.
Mrs. Hazel Boyd Smith, departed this life on December 7, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents William and Hattie Boyd and her youngest son Waylon Boyd Smith. She leaves to cherish her memories, a son, Willis S. Smith III, Los Angeles, California; two daughters, Wanda R. Smith and Wynona D. Smith both of Little Rock, Arkansas, two grandsons, Kristian B. Smith, Little Rock, Arkansas, and Ryuan G. Smith (Daphne), Grand Praire, Texas; one great-grandson, Chance S. Smith, a host of other relatives and friends.
