Henry Perry Jr. Obituary

Henry Perry, Jr. was born March 19, 1940, in Lonoke, Arkansas to the late Henry William Perry Sr. and Clorine (Hancock) Perry. Henry confessed his heart and soul to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He attended an All-Black Segregated School in Lonoke, Arkansas, Carver Elementary, Middle and High School. Henry graduated with the Class of 1960. He played basketball and baseball in school. He was given the opportunity to play in the All-Black Negro League. What an accomplishment to reflect back on over the years. 

Henry was a low-key kind of man, soft spoken and known for his sarcasm. He met the love of his life Marilyn Royce (Baker) Perry, and they married on October 12, 1964. To this union three wonderful children were born, Denita (Perry) Bryant, Elgin Perry and Myron Perry. 

Henry transitioned his earthly soul on October 18, 2024.  

Henry was proceeded in death by his parents, Henry William Perry Sr. & Clorine (Hancock) Perry, his loving wife of forty- two (42) years Marilyn (Baker) Perry, their infant son George Edward Perry, great-grandson Kartier Armani Perry, sister Gamella (Perry) Hines and brother Curtis Perry.

Henry's legacy will forever be cherished with fond memories by his daughter Denita Perry Bryant (Carl), Benton, Arkansas; two sons Elgin Perry (Tracy), Clarendon, Arkansas; Myron Perry (Angelia), Searcy, Arkansas; eight (8) grandchildren Melita, Nikita, Dominique, Rashad, William, Micheal, Mariah and Brandon Perry, thirteen (13) great-grandchildren: Deondray Joyner, Constance Joyner, Adreyan Flowers, Chustin Shell, Tyaika Perry, Corey Shepard, Colby Shepard, Rebekah Perry, Arabella Shepard, Melody Perry, Kyla Perry, Kelian Perry and Macy Perry, five (5) great-great grandchildren Maya Barrett, De'Sean Joyner, Asher Flowers, Aston Flowers and Dior Joyner, two (2) sisters Mary Ruth Perry, Jacksonville, Arkansas; and Judy Gray, Little Rock, Arkansas; a special daughter-in-love Phyllis (Jenkins) Harris (Elder Kenneth Harris), Meridian, Mississippi; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
