Homer McCall, Jr. was born December 11, 1940 in Scott, AR to the late Homer McCall, Sr. and Verlee Jones McCall. Homer Jr. transitioned to his heavenly home on May 7, 2024 in Texas. Both parents preceded him in death, daughters Coloche Walker, Japonica Walker and Talitha Scott, and his sister Annie Bell Peyton. He leaves to cherish his loving memory, one daughter, Cynthia McCall-Torres of Minnesota; two sons, Tony McCall and Bryan McCall of Texas; two sisters, Ruby Jean Eason and Alice Anderson (Richard) of Arkansas; loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Homer had a long and successful track record of buying and selling real estate for Century 21 Realty and later started his own company under the name of McCall and Associates in Norwalk and Paramount, California. He also established a very successful tax preparation business. His success helped lead the way for other African Americans in the California real estate market. Also, his commitment and dedication to the J.S. and Lucy Jones Family has always been very strong. Homer was the first to recommend that the family establish a trust or a limited liability corporation (LLC) to manage family property.
Homer Jr. was known widely for helping family and many individuals who are in need. From time to time, he often gave real estate and investment financial advice to any family member or those who desired some sound and valuable advice. He was privileged to be named one of the recipients of the JS and Lucy Jones Lifetime Achievement Award for his numerous contributions in his profession. Since retirement he resided in Texas with his children, their children and an extended family while enjoying life.
