Jackie Lawrence Jones McPeace was born February 11, 1954 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Horace Jones and Vera Harris. He was baptized at a young age by Rev. T.R. Moore. Jackie attended Carver High School in Lonoke; when the schools intergrated he attended Lonoke High School. He worked on the family farm and several other farms. Later, Jackie drove trucks until his burn accident. After recovery you could find him working tirelessly for his family and friends. During his younger years Jackie was an all around sportsman. He was a good basketball, football and softball player. His favorite sport was softball, playing with the Kerr All Stars was the highlight of his life (Known as Ripper). His favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys.
Jackie transitioned from this life on Monday, August 3, 2020 surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, son Shemon Bryant, two sisters and two brothers. Jackie will be lovingly remembered by his children Sterling Jones, Cabot, Arkansas; Keisha McPeace, Cabot, Arkansas; Vera (Marc) Bridges, Little Rock, Arkansas; Jackeli (April) Bryant, Scott, Arkansas; Apral Johnson, North Little Rock, Arkansas; Rachad McPeace, Scott, Arkansas; Brainon Bryant, Scott, Arkansas; Marcell McPeace, Lonoke, Arkansas and Brittany McPeace, North Little Rock, Arkansas.
Also, a special place in their heart of remembrance will be his siblings, Peggy McCoy, Carter (Samantha) McPeace, Vanessa (Hosea) Price, Douglas McPeace, LaWanda (Vern) Simpson, Pamela (Clinton) Hodge, Barbara Kelleybrew, James Jones, Michael (Mildred) Jones, Derrick (Bobbie) Harvey, Jean (Mike) Bailey and LaVonne Holmes, his life-long companion Cecill Roberson, aunts Louise Harris and Vivian Harris, twenty grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, a host of nephews, nieces, extended family and dear friends.
