Joann Murray, 65, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025, at Baptist Medical Center, Little Rock, Arkansas.
Born on December 4, 1959, in Little Rock, Arkansas Joann was the daughter of the late Olden Murry, Sr. and Elsie Murry. She graduated from DeValls Bluff High School in 1978 and later attended Henderson State University and earned an Associate of Science in Liberal Arts from Pulaski Technical College in 2006.
Over the years, Joann was a dedicated employee at UAMS and Doctor's Hospital. She devoted eighteen years of her life to Baptist Health Medical Center, where she later retired in 2006. After which, she was employed by Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton, Arkansas. Up until her death, she was a PRN employee at Baptist Health Practice Plus.
Joann was baptized at an early age under the leadership of Rev. Alexander at the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, DeValls Bluff, where she sang in the choir. After relocating to Little Rock, she later joined Greater Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Little Rock.
She is survived by her three children, Latia Murry, Ashley Murray, and Ryan Fossette of Little Rock, Arkansas; five siblings, Rebecca Young (Stanley) of DeValls Bluff, Arkansas, Olden Murry, Jr., of California, Sandra Penn (Lonzo) of Hazen, Arkansas, Donald Murry of Carlisle, Arkansas and Jackie Dodson (Rev. Brian Dodson) of DeValls Bluff, Arkansas; ten grandchildren, one great- grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Olden Murry, Sr. and Elsie Murry, and her brother, Gary Kent Murry.
She also leaves to mourn two special godmothers, Ann McGee and Portia Robinson.
