Kenneth Ray Rollins was born July 20, 1966 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Lee Andrew Rollins and Bertha Rollins. Kenny professed a belief in Christ at the early age of seven and was baptized at the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ by his grandfather the late Elder James E. Jordan. He was a graduate of Parkview High School. In his early teens he played both basketball and football recreationally at the boys club earning him the name RaRa because no one could catch him.
Kenny was a great help to his parents and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved many music artists especially his favorite group, Earth, Wind and Fire. He was an avid fan of the Raiders football team and the Boston Celtics basketball team. Until his illness he enjoyed cooking at restaurants such as Shorty Smalls, The Packet House and Buffalo Grill. Kenny was a great cook at home, whether it was grilling on the grill or helping with daily and holiday meals. He was a generous soul who would help you in any way he could.
His long twenty-four year battle with sarcoidosis is finally over. Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Lee Andrew Rollins, grandparents, Elder James Jordan, Bertha Jordan, Rev. Adell Rollins, and Ophelia Leeks Rollins, and his nephew Zach Rollins. Kenny is survived by his mother Bertha Rollins, his siblings; David Rollins, Barbara Rollins Pettus, Allan Rollins, Douglas Rollins, Joretta Rollins, Shawn Rollins (Lisa) of San Diego, California and Leechelle Rollins; nieces, Takila and Sharon, nephews, Jermaine, Michael and Shawn, Jr. of San Diego, California; special cousins, Essie Turner, Paula Buren, Pam Culpepper, Pat Jordan and Robert Leeks, aunt Wyvonia Hughes, a host of great nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
