Laura Beatrice Dodson Spencer was born October 9, 1939, to the late Perry Lee Dodson Sr. and Annie Elizabeth Waller Dodson in Pettus, Arkansas. As a child, Laura attended St. John Baptist Church in Pettus, Arkansas with her parents and siblings. Later, she became a member of Revelation COGIC in Carlisle, Arkansas. When she moved to Lonoke, she united with New Jerusalem COGIC. After moving from Lonoke, she attended and served in ministries in the Conway area until her death.
Laura was a very busy "Bea." She worked within the community spreading love and joy. Laura worked for adopted grandparents for three years, and senior citizens for over ten years. She enjoyed cooking and baking. Her passion was hospitality in sewing and cooking. She always fed people at her home and apartment complex.
Laura loved to sing at different functions. Everyone's favorite was "Midnight Cry." When she was asked to sing at different services, she never said no, always ready and willing. She will be loved and missed forever by family and friends.
On April 25, 2023, Laura Beatrice Dodson Spencer was caught up in the sunset.
Laura was preceded in death by her husband Eddie Lee Spencer, three children Eddie Lamar, Gary Gerade and Monica Shenee Spencer Jackson, parents Perry Lee Dodson Sr. and Annie Elizabeth Waller Dodson, five sisters James Anna, Margie Lee, Annie Jean, Brenda, and Dornice, four brothers Major, Wallace, Perry Jr., and Robert Dodson.
She leaves to mourn two daughters, Belinda Diann Spencer and Danita Meschelle Spencer, both of Conway, Arkansas; two sons Landas Wade Spencer, Lawton, Oklahoma, and Randall Ryan (Jolyn) Spencer, Conway, Arkansas; eleven grandchildren, Shannon Spencer (5), Mercedes Spencer (0), Michael Kirstein (0) Brentley (Jessica) Spencer (3) , Bradley (Makala)Spencer (3), Jessica Pringle (Thaddeus) (3), Trenton Spencer (1), Caitlin King (0),Tyler Spencer (0), Kyler Spencer and Kyree Spencer (0), two daughters- in- law, Conya (Gary) Spencer and Lalita (Lamar) Dixon, one son- in-love Alfred (Monica) Jackson, three sisters- in- law, Aretha LaFaye (Robert) Dodson, Stella (Perry) Dodson and Joyce (Wallace) Dodson, a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
