Pearlena (Wilks) Jones

Pearlena Wilks Jones was born in Ladd, Arkansas. She was the fourth child born to the late John and Cassie Wilks, both of whom preceded her in death along with, her husband Perry Jones, two brothers Cabe Polk and Freddie Lee Wilks, three sisters Rosetta Richards, Béatrice McDowell, and Freddie Mae Bobo, one daughter Joyce Wilks, one son Fredrick McGhee, one bonus son Jerry Jones and two grandsons.

After they relocated to Wrightsville, Arkansas in 1949, she joined Virginia Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Canady & Rev. E.C. Coakley. Then in 1980 she was under the leadership of Rev. Joe Stuart, Sr. until 2021. She served in various capacities in the church such as president of the Senior Usher Board, the Mother's Ministries, Sunday School Superintendent, and Chairlady of the Mission Society. She remained a faithful member under Pastor Darrell Farmer, Sr. until her health began to fail.

Pearlena leaves to cherish her memories and continue her legacy one bonus sister Georgia Carey, Little Rock, Arkansas; five sons Jimmy McGhee, Little Rock, Arkansas; George McGhee, Little Rock, Arkansas; Lavoris (Erma) McGhee Sr., North Little Rock, Arkansas; Erick McGhee, Wrightsville, Arkansas; and Derrick (Cynthia) McGhee, Columbus, Georgia; four daughters Angela (James) Riley, Wrightsville, Arkansas; Rosemary (Michael) Stevens, Little Rock, Arkansas; Genia McGhee, North Little Rock, Arkansas; and Yolanda Wilks, Wrightsville, Arkansas; thirty-two (32) grandchildren, sixty (60) great-grandchildren, eleven (11) great-great- grandchildren, four (4) special nephews, Morris Oglesby, Buford Robinson, Richard Polk and Will Wilborn, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
