Rose Bailey "Babo" Obituary

Rose Marie Glover Bailey was born on January 9, 1945, to the late Reverend Isaac Glover Sr. and Cora Tucker Glover. At an early age, she received Christ as her personal savior. She was a faithful member of Zion Chapel Baptist Church where she formerly served as a Sunday School Teacher and Sunday School Secretary under the leadership of Reverend Isaac Glover Sr. and later Pastor Tony Jackson Sr.

Rose graduated from Carver High School in 1962 and attended Shorter College. She married the late Captain Sedell Bailey (ret.) and was a devoted military wife and unto this union, one child, Monica Bailey (Carmichael) was born.

She worked on the Dortch's Plantation as a domestic service worker before working at Stuckey's (currently Love's) and Chicopee. Rose retired from Loreal USA formerly known as Maybelline in 2002 after 28 years of service.

Some of her hobbies were: watching her favorite team, Dallas Cowboys play while yelling at the T. V. screen lol, "The View," Westerns, cooking shows, Finding Your Roots, crocheting & etc. Rose also enjoyed fishing, traveling, playing dominoes, Suduko, and games on her Kindle before her health declined. In her retirement years, she loved to wake up to the "Get Up" morning show hosted by Erica Campbell of Mary Mary. She loved listening to blues on Saturday.

Rose enjoyed participating in water aerobics at the Patrick Henry Hayes Senior Citizens Center located in North Little Rock where she made new friends and went on various senior citizens trips. She started a walking group where her friends met regularly to walk around the local park in Lonoke before her health failed.

She loved spending time with her family and loved ones, and Rose was a devoted and dutiful daughter to her parents as they aged.

She was an avid reader who loved to learn new things and study her bible. She loved to cook a variety of foods, fried fish (brim and crappie that her nieces and nephew loved), chicken and rice casserole, fried chicken, coconut cake, apple pie, brown beans, cooking Easter dinner with a side of her homemade rolls, cooking blackeyed peas, frying hog jowl like bacon with cornbread for New Year's Day, and so much more.

Rose wasn't a lazy woman, she always kept her hands active by helping members in the community and others as needed before her health declined. She also was a Lonoke Elementary, Junior High, and High School Band Booster Club Member who worked the concession stand, did fundraisers, chaperoned trips, and etc. She volunteered for Governor Mike Beebe's Gubernatorial Campaign and thoroughly enjoyed it.

In her later years, Rose always said her main focus was going home to see her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
