We are here today to celebrate the life and cherish the memories of Rosie Lee Abston. Rosie Lee (Rose) Abston was born September 20, 1946, in Lake Village, Arkansas to the late Robert Thomas, Sr. and Virgie Stitts. Rose was the oldest of thirteen (13) children.
She spent the majority of her life in Lonoke, Arkansas. Rose united with Jerusalem Church of God In Christ, Lonoke, under the leadership of Elder Ervin B. Clark.
She married the late Columbus C. Abston to this union five (5) boys were born, Charles, Columbus, Elvis, Keith and Arthur. Also, Rose was blessed with eight (8) grandchildren Tyra, Skylar, Marissa, Tevin, Tiara, Durand, Dan'te, and Clayton, six great-grandchildren Jayden Abston, Zayden Abston, Kayden Abston, Aubree Abston, Malia Rose Barber and Truly Winona Adair.
Rose was a loving mother, a devoted wife, and a compassionate friend. Rosie touched the hearts of many with her kindness, warmth, and gentle spirit. Her presence brought light and joy to those around her, and her legacy of love will continue to live on in our hearts forever.
Rose spent countless years working at Golden Years Manor. Hers was a life of service and caring for others. As we bid farewell to Rosie, let us find comfort in the beautiful moments shared and the everlasting love she bestowed upon us.
Rosie departed from this earthly tabernacle to her permanent home on September 30, 2024.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Robert Thomas, Ivry Thomas, Otis Thomas, Hezekiah Stitts III, and Chester Stitts, sisters Virgie Hatton and Caroline Stitts.
Rosie leaves to mourn her homegoing: her five sons, sisters Mary Williams, and Brenda Thomas, brothers Roosevelt Thomas, Willie Thomas, and Johnny Stitts. This is not goodbye but farewell. Rest in Peace, dear Rosie Lee Abston.
