Sharilyun Fredricka "Lyn" (Yancy) Metcalf

Sharilyun F. Yancy Metcalf "aka Lyn" was born June 29, 1974, to the late Freddie Lee Yancy and Janice Bunton Yancy Harris. As a child, Sharilyun attended St. John Baptist Church in Lonoke, Arkansas with her parents and sister. Later, she became a member of Union Chapel Freewill Baptist Church in DeValls Bluff, Arkansas where she remained until she gained her wings.

Lyn graduated from Lonoke High School with the Class of 1992 and attended the University of Arkansas, Pine Bluff.  She was very sassy, perky, funny, loving and caring. These were just a few of her outstanding traits.

The highlight of Lyn's life was spending time with her family, especially Haven "Peanut" her granddaughter. Relaxation to Lyn was watching TV (Lifetime, Hallmark, Arkansas Razorbacks & Kansas City Chiefs).

On Wednesday, September 27, 2023, Lyn entered eternal life.

Lyn was preceded in death by her father Freddie Lee Yancy, maternal grandparents, Frank T. and Georgia Murry Bunton, paternal grandparents, Mack Sr. & Joann Yancy, and Mary Yancy.

She leaves to cherish her memories a loving husband of thirteen years, Tyrus Metcalf, two sons Cedric (Alyssa) Cooney, Houston, Texas; and Yancy Cooney, Lonoke, Arkansas; granddaughter, Haven Cooney, mother Janice Bunton Yancy Harris, sister Sedra Young, nephew Logan Young, niece Brooklyn Young, bonus children Carmen Metcalf, Jonathan Williams and Tyrus Metcalf Jr., grandchildren Marley Barker, KJ Geans, Jagger Williams and Karter Metcalf, her other pride and joy Sugarfoot and Chico, a host of family and friends who will always remember the love and laughter they shared.
