Waheedah Abdul Musawwir Shaheed, (Carrie Augustine Dobson) was born August 19, 1947 to Flora Mae Singleton Dobson and Quilla Benjamin Dobson; the fifth of nine children. She was married to Adib Abdul Waajid Shaheed I for over fifty years. To that union they had two children. Hafeezah Brooks (Michael) and Adib Shaheed II (Patrice), nine grandchildren, Tariq Jones, Adib Shaheed III, Joshua Brooks, Yasmeen Jones, Zenah Shaheed, Maalik Shaheed, Kameelah Shaheed, Talib Shaheed and A'ishah Shaheed, four great-grandchildren, Ayden Giles, Ji'aire, Jovi and Javi Brooks. Along with these she helped raise three others like they were her own, Sheereen Watkins (Jawad, Samiyyah), John Abdullah II ( Lakayla (Greyson), Jaylen), Sana Abdullah (Nadiyah (Tailynn), Ta'Kharrah, Na'Sir, Yah'Sir, (Ka'Mar) and Toriono Jr.), two sisters, Helen Taylor (James) and Valada Jackson of Hot Springs, Arkansas; three brothers, Lorenza Dobson of Panama City, Florida; Gary and Darcy Dobson of Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Waheedah attended St. Gabriel Catholic School and graduated from the historic Langston High School in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She went on to graduate from Philander Smith College with a bachelor's degree in Mathematics Education. While attending Philander Smith College, she became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Waheedah was a member of the Islamic Center for Human Excellence for over forty eight years where she served as the Principal and Educator in the Mohammed Schools for greater than thirty years. She was a former Girl Scout leader, learning coach and tutor who enjoyed seeing people growing as they learned. 

Waheedah departed this life on January 14, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Arnold and Ellinger Dobson Sr, and one sister Jeri Jean Dobson. She leaves memories to many others who look to her like a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, teacher, mentor and sister.
