William Jones, 67, of North Little Rock, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 12, 2022. He was born on June 2, 1955, in Lonoke, AR to the late Fred Jones and Lena Mae Cole (Carr).
He professed a hope in Christ at an early age, and was baptized in Scott, Arkansas.
He graduated from Lonoke High School and continued his education in mechanics. He was interested in music and became an excellent DJ and Broadcaster.
William was employed for many years at Straus Frank, 555 Appliance, and retired from Southern Cotton Oil of North Little Rock. He went into the automotive business and opened William’s Garage.
William met his true love and was united in holy matrimony to Wanda Terry in 1981. To this union, three children were born: one son, Stephen, and two daughters, Alicia, and Catherine.
He was a loving person who adored his family. He will be remembered for being a hard worker. William was a self-proclaimed leader and encouraged gatherings of loved ones. William was delighted to play dominos, bingo, cards, and pool with his siblings and friends. His love of “The Natural State” often brought him to the great outdoors. Before his health declined, he made it an annual tradition to go hunting during deer season. William also enjoyed fishing.
He leaves memorable memories to his children, Stephen, and Alicia, of Texas and Catherine of California. His beloved Wanda Jones of North Little Rock. His sister Patricia Braswell (Jones), brothers Freddie Jones, and Stanley Jones of Lonoke. Three grandchildren; Jasmine, Ashton, and Zoey.
He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, son in-law, brothers’ in-law, and countless friends.
William was preceded in death by his parents Fred Jones and Lena Mae Cole, brothers Louis Arthur Jones, Wayne Earl Jones, and Kenneth Jones and a sister Barbara Ann Jones Gaines.
William will be deeply missed.
